The Silva Dance Company, founded by internationally acclaimed dancers, Leandro and Janete Silva will present “Raiz” on April 11th and April 19th at The Martha Graham School in New York City. The Company is renowned for its masterful performance of Capoeira, a fusion of martial arts, Afro Brazilian rhythms, and modern and contemporary dance. “Raiz” means roots and depicts how the slaves transitioned from Africa, their homeland, to other parts of the world.
